Attended USC after a stint at Pierce College and was a star WR transitioning from QB under Coach John McKay
Was a key offensive factor scoring 2 TDs in the 1963 Rose Bowl Game victory over Wisconsin in what was considered one of the best Rose Bowl Games ever

Spent 3 seasons as the go-to receiver from ‘61-‘63

Set a USC record that still stands – the greatest average-per-catch (20.94 yards)
