Accomplishments

During High School:

• LA Player of the Year in 1959

During College:

• Attended USC after a stint at Pierce College and was a star WR transitioning from QB under Coach John McKay
• Was a key offensive factor scoring 2 TDs in the 1963 Rose Bowl Game victory over Wisconsin in what was considered one of the best Rose Bowl Games ever
• 1962 National Champion at USC
• Spent 3 seasons as the go-to receiver from ‘61-‘63
• Consensus All-American
• Set a USC record that still stands – the greatest average-per-catch (20.94 yards)

Post College:

• College Football Hall of Fame
• 2nd Round Pick in the NFL Draft (Vikings – 3 seasons)
